Travel Grants for WordCamp Sydney

The Code Company is excited to announce the sponsorship of ten travel grants, each worth $500 AUD, to support attendance at WordCamp Sydney 2024. This initiative aims to help individuals who might not otherwise be able to participate due to financial constraints.

WordCamp Sydney 2024, scheduled for November, is set to be the premier WordPress event in Australia this year. With no major WordCamp events in Australia since 2019, this gathering is a unique opportunity for the community to come together, learn, share, and network.

However, we recognise that not everyone has the means to fund a trip to Sydney.

Our hope is that these travel grants will remove financial barriers so that active community members can contribute even more to the future of WordPress

We want to see WordCamp Sydney be a great success, and that means more people from different backgrounds or walks of life making it to Sydney.

While all applications are welcome, priority will be given to historically underrepresented groups and individuals who have never attended a WordCamp before.

Who are these grants for?

These grants are designed for someone who:

  • Is an active member in the WordPress community.
  • Has never attended any flagship WordCamps (Asia, US or Europe) before.
  • Requires financial assistance to attend.
  • Is part of the underrepresented demography of open-source contributors.
  • Is interested in bringing their experience to grow their local WordPress community and/or WordPress community in Australia.
